Why dogs chase a laser beam?

my dog is stupid, bites the wall when I shine the laser on the wall. Why is that?

The only stupid thing that happens is to continue to do so. Dogs are predators by nature and have an instinct to chase the little things go fast. This is called prey drive and some dogs have more than others. If your dog has a high prey drive (such as burrows) and keeps frustrating that can push nuts.
